When we started Redfern Hemp Co. in 2019 never did we imagine we would be engaged in a cannabis-turf-war with Big Marijuana to simply sell full-spectrum tinctures and non-intoxicating topicals & pet products that truly meet our customers needs.
It’s clear Virginia’s lawmakers want to pick winners and losers at the expense of Small Businesses like ours. Whether you use hemp products or not, this is an issue that should outrage most taxpaying Citizen.
The Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, Don Scott, in reference to the State Budget and Data Centers, stated that Virginia’s Lawmakers are in ‘no position to demonize any industry.‘ But that’s exactly what they’re doing to Virginia’s vibrant and growing hemp industry of 2k retailers and a whole host of in-state manufacturers. There’s not a demographic that isn’t harmed by the State’s proposed Budget — not to mention the unforeseen cost to the state in tax revenue from the loss of 100% compliant hemp products.
It goes without saying that the Government knows my story. But this fight has always been about YOU: the Customer Citizens; the Veterans; Mother’s and Children with autism; The Grandma’s with arthritic hands; and The Guys with gout! The list goes on and on. Each and every story inspires the entire Redfern Team to continue fighting.
Below is a link where you can tell your personal story of how Redfern’s hemp creams, dog treats and/or edibles have helped you. It may be your last chance.
Yours in Hemp,
Graham H. Redfern

Thank You CBS 6!
I had the opportunity to give CBS 6 reporter Joi Fultz a tour of our Caroline County farm and market. We appreciate CBS 6 for highlighting the voices of Virginia’s hemp farmers—whom have been excluded from the budget negotiation process despite being directly affected by the proposed policy changes. As these discussions continue, it is critical that farmers, small businesses, and consumers have a seat at the table alongside all other stakeholders.

Our Lobbyist’s Letter
Most of what we tell our customers is only the tip of the iceberg of the policy fight that we never asked for.. A year ago, Redfern, along with our competition, started the Cannabis Small Business Association. By pooling our resources we’ve been fortunate enough to hire the lobbying firm Jackson-West Consulting, LLP.
Charlie Jackson has been our eyes and ears at the General Assembly and has been relentlessly fighting on ALL our behalves. Please read his letter because no one explains what is at stake better than him. Thank you Charlie!
